To the relief of many, in the
last few years, a revolutionary new category of portable oxygen concentrator devices
has emerged in the marketplace. Two American companies on the forefront of portable
oxygen systems are SeQual Technologies and Inogen, Inc.
The portable oxygen concentrator (also called POC) developed by both of
these companies are small and light enough to be carried or pulled on a cart much like
oxygen cylinders of the past... except these POCs are safe and small enough to use
comfortably on a commercial airplane, in your car while driving, at restaurants and just
about anywhere.
Introducing the SeQual
Eclipse II Portable Oxygen Concentrator.
This portable oxygen concentrator provides a superior experience to the
oxygen user compared to older oxygen technologies. The perfect companion for travel
or home, the Eclipse II is extremely quiet and intelligent. This POC achieves quiet,
smooth running operation by using 6 small rotating oxygen cylinders inside instead of the
2 large rotating cylinders typically used by traditional oxygen concentrators. The
Eclipse II has 200 fewer moving parts, which equates to a lighter, more efficient,
more reliable device. Capable of both pulse dose and continuous flow, this machine
can sense when breathing patterns change and unlike many other oxygen devices, the Eclipse
has the power to keep up in stressful situations of rapid breathing.
Introducing the Inogen One Portable Oxygen
Concentrator.
The smallest, lightest POC available. The 7 pound, Inogen One comes
with a carry bag allowing the oxygen user to wear his or her oxygen device like a woman's
purse or a man's mail carrier bag often worn by businessmen as an alternative to the
handheld briefcase. In addition, this unit also comes with a pull out handle and
wheels so it can be pulled like a hand cart. Like the SeQual Eclipse II, the Inogen
One can be used on the go, in your car, on commercial airlines, cruises, site seeing in
the city, strolling in the park, etc. Either Inogen or Eclipse can run off the
battery, plug into a car cigarette lighter, or simply plug into a standard electrical
outlet.
